We
can arrange different types of accommodation for your arrival in
New Zealand. You may wish to stay there for just a few weeks, or
for a longer period.
Homestay
Many students like to live first of all in a Homestay. Both
ARC centres offer high-quality Homestay accommodation, where
you can enjoy getting
to know a New
Zealand family. Homestay families are carefully chosen, and checked
by the centres.
You can take part in family activities and visits, and practise
your English in everyday situations. Each centre’s website has details of its Homestay arrangements and costs.
Student hostels
There are student hostels in each city. If you are interested in living in a
hostel, your ARC centre will be able to help you. The centre staff
can recommend the nearest and most suitable hostel.
Private arrangements
Backpacker hostel (backpackers)
If you want to go to a backpacker hostel, both ARC New Zealand cities have
a wide range. www.backpack.co.nz is a good site for information about backpackers.
Flatting
This means sharing a house or flat with other people. It is
very popular in New Zealand. If you do not know any flatmates, we suggest
you stay at a backpackers first until you meet other people.
Motel or hotel
Another possibility. Please check websites for more information.
